Being Something

Being Something is a spiritual sci-fi/fantasy read for ages 12 and up. The futuristic story takes the reader on an incredible journey with two American children, Thaddeus and Ada, who recently moved to a military, off-base, housing ranch in northern Poland. After an acrimonious argument with his NCO step-dad, Thad escapes to a cliff, in the spacious backyard, that overlooks the Baltic Sea.  The preteen immediately finds himself beneath what appears to be an unexpected local thunderstorm!  The incongruous weather pattern is actually a transportation network initiated by an underground humanoid civilization known as Ennoch. A youthful warrior-hunter called, Thow, is traveling from Ennoch to an underwater realm deep beneath the southern Pacific Ocean, Leviathan, to fulfill a tribal maturation tradition known as a: Growth Cycle Peregrination.  A mishap with his aircraft over the southern Baltic causes Thow to execute an emergency bail-out procedure!  His esoteric membranous shuttle inadvertently crashes into Thad just as Ada pursues her half-brother onto the cliff!  Since the shuttle cannot stop, Thow promptly decides to bring aboard the human siblings onto his near-invisible craft.  During the unique underwater passage to Leviathan, Thow accesses the active brain of the deceased boy to learn who Thad is.  Impressed with the human child’s short life, Thow calls on a rare power to exchange his life for the human’s!  When the siblings arrive in Leviathan, Thad is resurrected with extraordinary powers and talents that he must somehow learn to activate and utilize.  More impressively, as Thad fervently seeks a passage back home for Ada, the boy decides to carry on with Thow’s original mission in Leviathan because of Thow’s sacrifice.  During this adventure in a most strange land, the siblings are assisted and accompanied by a mage, a witch’s apprentice, a warrior, and a complex nomadic man who’s known as an Eremite. 

This adventure-filled story features a unique blend of fantasy, action, and spirituality, exploring themes of courage, friendship, and the power of belief.  It offers a very different approach to UFOs and other unexplained and esoteric phenomena.  If accepted and received by the public, this would be the first book in a potential 4-volume series.  

The book is available in Kindle, hardcover, and paperback formats.  The editing of this version, however, is atrocious.  Shepherd Corps apologizes on behalf of Amazon,
